I'd like to think that everyone already knows who these characters are, but I'll accept the fact that it's quite possible everyone doesn't.

I watched this movie the other day that I haven't seen since I was so leetle! Anyway, I couldn't believe it... Little Shop of Horrors was made in 1986 and to this day I'm still shitting myself at how awesome that plant was. Seriously, guys, CG was a joke back then. I'd like to see a lot more animatronics in movies nowadays. I mean, I'm sure they use a healthy mixture of CG and robots... robots for up-close shots and CG for distance or for impossible camera angles... but WOW, man, let me tell you. I've seen my share of shitty animatronics, but I am still endlessly impressed with Audrey II. Perfect lip synch and EVERYTHING. Seriously, you should check this shit.

Really, you should. It's a musical, with sadistic dentists (and masochistic patients), an abused girlfriend, a man-eating talking plant from outer space, a jewish guy, 3 hot black singer ladies and Rick Morranis. You can't get much better than that. : D

Anyway, this is supposed to be the part where Audrey II (The plant) first starts singing to Seymour (the guy) about how he needs to feed him or he'll die. Of course he's been feeding off of Seymour's blood, but now that he's bigger he wants whole people. Anyway, he gives Seymour the idea to kill the dentist (who is abusing his girlfriend that Seymour is gay for and named the plant after) and anyway, blah blah blah, it's awesome. Watch it.

I remember my high school did this play when I was in freshman or sophomore year, but for some reason I never saw it. D :

I was going to try and do this all in marker, but again I failed and succumbed to effing it around in photoshop. Here's the straight-up marker version:

Oh, and I know I kind of have a tendency to flake out as far as backgrounds and scenery go, but they're inside the plant shop and between them is the scene across the street through the window. It's a shot taken basically directly from the movie, not much originality there. Unless you haven't seen it, which is why I'm explaining it.
Oh, btw, the lights are off. Which is why it's dark. NOT BECAUSE I'M COVERING UP MY MISTAKES SHUT UP

You know, going back to animatronics, I think that would be a sweet-ass job to have. Making electronic puppets and what have you... I'm not the best at sculpting in the world, or electronics for that matter...but I think it'd be really fun. Designing them and finding materials to make them out of and whatnot...

Anyway, I think that's it.
Done with sakura pigment pens and prisma markers and photoshop.

OH on a side note, I drew the plant out first in pen. No pencil sketching, just straight-up pen. Of course I wussed out and had to pencil the rest of it before I inked it. ^^;
Strangely enough, it was easy to just pick up a pen and draw the plant... but when it came to wussing out and using pencil, it took forever and I was never satisfied with it.
I guess maybe using straight-up pen makes you think more about what you're doing so you don't mess up? I don't know. Or maybe I was just in the mood to draw a plant.

...Which I'd never thought I'd say, after drawing class last semester. XD

Enjoy!

Hah! His expression is totally priceless. ^^ I love how you drew the plant, too.

The guy who climbed the mountain because it was there obviously had too much time on his hands.
Thankya!

Your marker skills are pretty mad yourself. See, I have this problem where I'm really really sloppy. All of your stuff is nice and sharp!

you know what's really amusing about that scene? the fact that Audrey, the plant, is suggesting a way to "weed" out the wrong-doers of the world XD

...curse my late-night puns >>;
Sweet. My friend was in this. But I wasn't friends with her yet so like I didn't see it. But I totally can hear the voice of the plant.
LOLOLOL! Weed! You're a genius, Hiaki. That's why we love you.
