Anyway, I figured I'd put this up now, because it ain't gettin' any more finished than this. I actually started this (and apparently gave up on it) awhile ago. Few months or more. Anyway, that's not important.

About the picture:

Okay, well first, this is (from left to right) Mark and Roger from RENT. This picture prolly looks alot better NOT FULL SIZE. Just because I did it in pencil and it's got sketchy, fuzzy crap all underneath the coloring. I don't like how Roger's face turned out. I don't know, it just looks weird. He looks too pale also. Well, I guess he is kind of a hermit emo-boy who doesn't leave the house much. He's also dying from AIDS but still, I mean, he shouldn't look that unhealthy. Not yet at least.

I don't know, the whole picture might just be kind of weird. It also looks a little like Mark is grabbing Roger's ass, but that IS NOT THE CASE. I just suck at showing depth perception.

More about the actual characters though...

Not that any of this is important, by the way. I'm just pointing it out.

Roger's outfit kinda bugs me. See, it's a mixture of Roger from the original broadway version, and the Roger from the movie (both are played by the same guy, it's just that there's about a 10 year difference in his age. Not that it's relevant, 'cause he's still young and pretty anyway.) His pants are like the one's he wears in the play, and pretty much the rest of him is how he looked in the movie. He had short, spikey hair in the play...

Aside from that, the picture might seem a little strange, so I'd like to explain a little. See, they're singing, and I realized that it's hard to draw people singing and having some sort of expression or disposition at the same time. So it prolly looks like they're yelling at each other. But anyway, in this particular song they're kind of poking fun of the fact that they're poor and freezing their asses off and that they have no money to pay the rent. So they're kind of joking and having a fun time with it, but at the same time, they're pissed and rocking out about it. It's a very "we're pissed so let's rock about it" song.

Anyway, they don't do this in the movie, but in the play, when they're singing those lines that I aforequoted, they get real close to each other and kind of up in each other's faces---borderline "too close to be friends", but not sexually or anything. Mostly, just, like I said earlier, they're kinda angry and rocking out about it, so they're kinda in each others faces. I don't know. I don't think I'm making any sense. You really kinda had to see it... I was just trying to capture something that seemed a little hard to explain in a drawing.

I don't think it worked. Oh well, anyway, hope you all enjoy! Oh, and if you haven't ever watched RENT and don't know what I'm talking about... GO OUT AND RENT "RENT" RIGHT NOW. THEN WATCH IT. It's the most amazing musical ever concieved by man. Thank you Jonathan Larson.

Actually, it's kind of one of those things that people either really like, or really hate. There's an inbetween, it's just that most people either love it or hate it. Oh wells, wh00tever. ^_^¿
