I wanted to make a poster. Something inspiring and motivational. And... I dunno, I guess a bunch of kids willing to go out and fight 'til they die for the sake of freedom of speech and vulgarity is inspiring and motivational? XD Hahaha.

Ohhhh man. Believe it or not, I haven't spent a lot of time on this. I just opened it and worked on it little by little whenever I had enough free time to do something but not enough free time to do something worthwhile.... here and there over the past couple weeks or so.

I thought maybe the text was overkill, but I kinda like it. That's actually what I spend most of my time on in any given photoshoop piece.... arranging text and futzing with unnecessary background crap.

Why have I not ever drawn Gregory until now? :/ I've doodled Ze Mole but why no Greeeegggg? He's so epic and manly. I tell you Gregory if you were a little older you'd have soooo many chicks.

So yes. There ya' go. The fun thing about doing big, epic pictures like this is that I think of stuff as I go along. The unfun thing is that my computer lags because I like to have a separate layer for EVERYTHING. Sketch, lines, base color, base shading, gradient shading, highlights, white back-layer so that whatever I do with the background doesn't show through, thick outline of some sort... and that's for EACH character. I actually skipped a lot of that process and didn't go through with shading most of the characters.... and I'm not joking, by the time I was done with this, I STILL had like.... 68 layers. And that's AFTER merging buttshits of text layers together.


So I had to have Butters in it... because even though he wasn't really a developed character at the point when the movie came out, he was still there. And even though he's just a background kid he does have a bit of personality. He was carrying their flag and then tripped and fell at the end of the song. HOW COULD I NOT INCLUDE HIM??

And then I felt bad leaving out Kenny but I mean... he dies within the first 10 minutes of the movie. If he didn't, there'd be no storyline. SOOOOOOOOOO I added him in the background in an attempt to make it look like some dramatic glowyshit anime thing. And then there was this empty space so I put Terrence and Phillip in there too. I've never drawn them before in "my style" but I wanted to make sure you could tell they were Canadian. So I gave beady little eyes and bigger mouths (for flappin' heads so full of liessss!). And it's kind of terrifying.

Anyway... yeah. Like I said, I could've been more detailed with the shading, but I kind of wanted it to look more bold and... shape-y. Like a propaganda poster or something.
I started shading some of the characters but then stopped. Maybe I'll upload the sketches some time, because they started totally different than how they turned out.


HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHHH. Okay. I'm done now.
I thought I could manage not drawing more SP fanart for awhile but IT STRUCK AGAIN. DX Hahaha.

I was contemplating uploading this to a contest in the SP Artists club because the theme was "EPIC". And as completely rad as all of the prizes are (we've got a variety of awesome artists giving out original works, taking requests, and custom merchandiiiizzzzeeee~~!!), I think there's plenty of artists there who are probably working really hard to make totally kickass pictures and while the appreciation wouldn't be lost on me, I feel like other people probably want it more than I. I'm not trying to get people to convince me otherwise, I just.... I want people who really want to win to win. XD
So ... yeah. There's my little promotion for the club.
